How much does our tiny weigh?

Without the appliances & furniture it comes in at 4.5T

How do we connect to water?

Our tiny house is set up like a conventional caravan water connection with a standard garden hose plug connection. Just attached to a tap point nearby. We collect rain water in a storage tank which is connected to a pump & filter system that then attaches to this connection point.

How do we connect to power?

The tiny house runs in a 15amp mains power with safety switchboard. We connect to our power source using a 15A heavy duty Caravan extension cable. We don’t have solar power at this stage however, our tiny does come “solar ready” so we can connect a solar system at a later stage

How do we connect to gas?

We have a dual gas regulator that takes 2 x LPG gas bottles. We use 2 x 9L BBQ gas bottles which generally lasts us for 3 months.

Can you purchase our plans?

Unfortunately, as we went through a builder, we do not own the copyright to the design or plans so we are unable to provide the plans. You can check our amazing builder & the plans for our model here though https://aussietinyhouses.com.au/tiny-houses/teewah-72/. Our design has been added to their permanent designs & is the Teewah 7.2

Do you require Council approval for a Tiny?

There is no way to be able to give advice on council requirements for Tiny living as each state and local council requirements can vary. As a general rule, tiny houses are viewed as caravans; you don’t require a DA approval however, the council may limit the amount of time you can be parked in a single location. Some areas are more relaxed than others & some tiny house dwellers choose to fly under the radar. It’s important to do you research for the specific council you intend to park your tiny.

Finding a Parking spot?

Often the more difficult task of going Tiny can be finding a parking spot. If you don’t own your own land or want to rent a space in a caravan park, then you’ll need to source a space from someone else. This can be with friends or family or perhaps even someone looking for a source of income or assistance with maintenance of their land. You can reach out to friends & family you know have land, post on social media or do letter box drops to properties you think would be an ideal parking spot. It is important when organising these agreements that you clearly discuss the expectations & requirements of each party, if possible, put this in writing too!

Financing a Tiny Build?

Financing a tiny house in Australia can be a little complicated. Unfortunately, a tiny house is not recognised as a caravan, vehicle or house by lenders (at least not at the time of writing this). For this reason, if you require finance then this will need to be via a personal loan.
